![]() We saw how this game could generate more group fun than anything on Xbox LIVE Arcade, whether it was played from the same couch or over Xbox LIVE. One of the key things about Wits & Wagers is that people get to enjoy the game simultaneously (there is no waiting for "my turn" that is common in trivia games) and that while people are comparing their answers and betting on who they think got it right, people naturally talk, joke around, and there is a lot of laughter during the game. ![]() Not only is it a great twist on trivia games, but we felt it could be that social party game that could bring something new and fresh to the Xbox LIVE Arcade portfolio. We sat down and played the board game as a team and it immediately stood out to us as a perfect product to develop. What was attractive to Hidden Path about Wits & Wagers, and what makes it a great choice for XBLA? Jeff Pobst: A friend who knew the board game developers at North Star Games recommended we look at Wits & Wagers as it was a blast to play and had won so many awards. IGN: There are so many trivia games on the market. We recently talked to Pobst, Hidden Path's CEO, about Wits & Wagers, Xbox Live Arcade's allure for startup developers and the economic statistics of large Asian countries. Hidden Path was co-founded by a group of former Microsoft employees, including Age of Empires II lead designer Mark Terrano, Crimson Skies co-creator Dave McCoy, Xbox Advanced Technology Group member Michael Austin and Xbox 360 third-party developer evangelist Jeff Pobst.
